geographic focus
The fund focuses on companies in Ohio, with a preference for Northeast Ohio, particularly the Mahoning Valley. We understand the strengths and assets of this region and believe that bringing venture capital to the Valley can be a game changer.

VGV believes in an active investment model, whereby we work closely with portfolio companies to help drive value.  We make investments with companies that will allow us to be strong partners, leveraging the expertise of our partner organizations and national investor network to the benefit of the investment.  In addition, we offer operational assistance if needed including helping to define strategy, facilitate strategic partnerships, implement sales and marketing tactics, and attract key talent.

investment criteria
We invest across the technology spectrum, with an emphasis on the software, IT, healthcare, energy, additive manufacturing, and advanced materials sectors. The fund seeks opportunities with strong management teams, large and growing markets, and that solve a real pain point (a “Must Have” product or service). Our primary focus is to invest at the seed stage.
